National Readers Day

National Young Readers Day is an annual event that was created by Pizza Hut and Center for the Book in the Library of Congress. Schools take this day to invite celebrity guest to come in and read for the children. Celebrities consist of local officials, fireman, parents and other guest. This day recognizes the benefits and joys of reading.

Reading is a fundamental learning process for growing and learning. The earlier a child has a love for reading, the better. Start reading to your child as early in their life as possible. Children love hearing stories. Not only reserve a time throughout each day or week to read to them, but let them pick out a book that they want to be read, or that they want to try and read themselves.

Continue encouraging your child to read by joining your local library! Joining a library is a cost effective way to encourage your child to read and gives them more variety and fun.
