Children’s author, Sands Hetherington visiting CMAC!

Night Buddies revolves around the nighttime adventures of a young boy named John, who is not ready to go to sleep, and a bright red crocodile named Crosley who turns up under John’s bed. As the stories in each book open, this unlikely pair sneaks out of John’s house using Crosley’s I-ain’t-here doodad, which makes them invisible to John’s parents. They embark on their Program, the Night Buddies word for Adventure, and make their way around the Borough chasing down enemies and cleaning up the mishaps at hand.

The first book in the series is Night Buddies and The Pineapple Cheesecake Scare. The Program for the night is to find out why all of the pineapple cheesecakes in the world’s only pineapple cheesecake factory are disappearing.

These adventures after lights-out will delight any young reader who relishes an adventure/fantasy in the wee hours of the night.

Fall crafts for kids

The weather is cooling down and fall is just around the corner! What better way to get your family and little ones in the mood for fall than to craft decorations to place around the house? We’ve found a few crafts that can made with simple materials laying around the house that are sure to turn any boring afternoon into a fun crafting time for everyone!

For more pictures of this craft, visit the following link.

Don’t have pretzels or tissue paper? Try making the same autumn tree by grabbing some plain white printer paper and drawing a tree trunk and branches using a brown marker or crayon. For the leaves use yellow, orange, red and green Fruit Loops and Cheerios like the one found here!

(we found cute, inexpensive paper leaves at the Dollar Tree, click here!)

Books for Big Kids, continued

We’ve added several books to the collection of children’s books we posted a few weeks ago! Just like the last list, each of these books has not only a great story and pictures for your children to look at, but also a valuable take-away as well! We’ll continue to add to this list as we find more books that we think your family will love. Check out these books for now!
